Synopsis:
Taylor is a pretty 17-year-old high school student. A little awkward, and painfully aware of it. When her mom gives her a computer for her birthday, Taylor is excited by the prospect of freedom and the independence of going online without her mother always looking over her shoulder. She, being pushed by her friends, signs up on a social networking site. Taylor falls victim to cyber-bullying and tries to gain her strength to end it. Anyone else was trying to help but it was making it worse.
Review and Advice:
This movie, helps. In my opinion, it helped me look at things in a different way. It shows you how Words Can Hurt, how cyber-bullying affects people, how you can prevent it, how important it is to choose real friends and many other things. It made me laugh, cry, and it just gave me so many different emotions. Also, it has great actors and actresses, at least that's what I think.
I have seen like two or three cyber-bullying movies, but I think I like this one the most. It has a lot of things that can help you get through cyber-bullying, or that help you prevent it. For example, people normally tell the ones that are going through that to just "ignore it" and I used to do that, as well, you know, tell people to ignore it or get over it. Now, with this movie I learned that, that doesn't really work.
Let me put it up in a different way: Imagine you have a cut on your foot, you see it, you feel that it hurts, but you just ignore it. It will continue to bleed, hurt and if you keep on ignoring it, it would probably get infected. What you really have to do is get help.
We keep on telling people to ignore their problems, when in fact they have to confront them, or look for someone that knows about the situation they are going through and ask them for help. Of course, that isn't as easy as it sounds, but if you have a friend or know about someone that needs help, but doesn't seem to do anything about it, be a good person, and help them.
Although, helping them is not saying, "stay strong", helping them is making them stay strong. One of the most important thing that has helped me get through some stuff, like stress or something else, is praying. Our word has power and we shall use it for the better, the wiser, and the greater. Get professional help, or someone that you know that will be willing and able to help that person.
